Obama to attend Vegas fundraiser for Reid: Let’s Donate Instead to Reid’s Arch Rival

President Obama is planning to make a fundraising trip to Las Vegas, NV on May 26 for Harry Reid. As president, Obama has helped raise money for Democratic candidates by attending two DNC-sponsored fundraisers in Washington. This is his first appearance at an event for an individual candidate. (See: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/05/12/obama-to-attend-vegas-fundraiser-for-reid/).

Not fair, you say? Unethical?

Then send a message to Harry Reid and make an investment in liberty by investing in Sharron Angle’s campaign. Can you imagine the look on his face when he wakes up on May 27th and discovers Sharron Angle, his arch rival, has received more donations then he did on the 26th without the help of the President?

Here’s how it’s done:

1. Go to Sharron Angle's website (http://www.sharronangle.com/) and donate a minimum of $35.00 (more is always appreciated), or go to http://nvaction.com/NACHarryBlast.html

2. Send this to everyone on your email list. (Especially if your friends are out of state)

3. Ask your friends to send this email to everyone on their email list.

Harry Reid Gets a Free Ride? I Don't Think So...

The Politico Boasts that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid could “get a free ride” in 2010. (see http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0509/22446.html).

DON’T YOU LET THAT HAPPEN!

Millions of Americans are asking, “How can we get rid of Harry Reid when he comes up for re-election in 2010?” Only Nevadans can vote to replace Harry Reid… but every freedom-loving American can help by investing in Sharron’s campaign.  Go to http://www.sharronangle.com/ and get in the fight.

I know Sharron personally and she is a true conservative, committed to the Constitution, liberty, limited government - all the ideas the Founding Fathers held dear.

A former Representative in the Nevada State House of Representatives (Assemblywoman), she has filed with the Federal Election Commission to run against Harry Reid. He had better quake in his boots.

Her amazing campaign ability first came to light after the 2000 census when she was an assemblywoman representing west Reno. Democrats played dirty politics and re-drew the district lines, forcing her to run against the popular incumbent Assemblyman Greg Brower. She personally visited every home in her new district at least three times, and as a result defeated him.

In 2006 she left the assembly to run for Congress against Secretary of State Dean Heller and first lady Dawn Gibbons, both of whom had statewide name identification. In a race that covered all 17 Nevada counties, Heller edged Angle by less than 1 percent of the votes cast, while Gibbons ran a distant third.

In 2008 she took on incumbent State Sen. Bill Raggio, who had been a Nevada Senator since 1972 and was the most powerful Republican in Nevada. Sharron raised about $50,000 for the race while Raggio raised and spent $513,000.

When the results came in Raggio edged Sharron by a bare 500 votes.

If she can raise enough support, and comes into the race against Reid, she will immediately be a star on the national scene. THAT IS WHERE YOU COME IN! Sharron will report her campaign contributions to the FEC on June 30. It is important that she have a very strong showing - at least $100,000. It will take millions to win this race. PLEASE go to her website (http://www.sharronangle.com/) and make an investment in liberty.

(Sharron's political history is taken from an April 15 article in the Tahoe Bonanza, written by Jim Clark).

Harry Reid Say Income Taxes are Voluntary

Income Tax is Voluntary says Harry Reid, Tea Parties Cancelled!

Citizens across America rejoiced on hearing the news that the income tax is voluntary. We have it straight from the mouth of one of our elected representatives. Senator Harry Reid in this short clip describes our tax system as a voluntary system.

REPUBLICAN EXPLORATION: Angle weighs run against Reid in '10

Republican Sharron Angle, a former assemblywoman from Reno, is exploring the prospect of running against U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in 2010.

Angle sent a letter this week to a "couple thousand" of her past supporters seeking seed money for the potential campaign.

"I need to know what kind of support I have for a run like this. That's what the exploration is all about," Angle said in an interview. "I need to know what kind of strength I can rely on, and in the way the political world works, that comes mostly in the form of contributions."

Angle said she had been out of town since the letter went out and didn't know how much response it has ginned up. Her goal is to raise $100,000 by May.

A four-term member of the state Assembly, Angle, 59, ran unsuccessful primary races against Republican establishment candidates in 2006 and 2008. In 2006 she narrowly lost the nomination in the 2nd Congressional District to Rep. Dean Heller, and last year she failed to unseat state Senate Minority Leader Bill Raggio. In both cases she positioned herself as the more conservative candidate.

Sharron Angle Files Exploratory with FEC to Run Against Harry Reid

Sharron Angle has taken the first step in running against Nevada Senator Harry Reid (Democrat) by filing with the FEC (Federal Elections Commission). As you know, Harry Reid is the Senate Majority Leader, and with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Democrat) and President Obama, has crafted and passed bills that have resulted in unprecented spending and growth of government.

Sharron is a solid conservative, not a RINO (Republican in Name Only). Her voting record shows it (http://www.sharronangle.com/main/legislation/BillsNowLaw.html)

Please consider sending her a campaign contribution, as this is not just important for Nevada, but for the nation. A donation can be made via credit card at https://www.completecampaigns.com/FR/contribute.asp?campaignid=Angle, or by check to Friends for Sharron Angle, PO Box 33058 Reno, NV 89533.

I have also started a blog for her, which will contain the text of this email: http://irightforangle.blogspot.com/

See below a letter she sent to previous supporters which announces her intentions:

Dear XXXXXXXX,

Thank you for being a long time, loyal supporter. You are probably as anguished as I am over the failure of our hard-hitting political and policy losses but, I’m not ready to “throw in the towel.” However, I need to know the strength on which I can rely for more battles.

I have taken the first step by filing with the FEC for US Senate opposing Harry Reid. Now I need your help. It is obvious there is a fear of Harry Reid’s power and influence so it's up to “We the People” to get rid of Harry Reid.

The Los Angeles Times recently reported that Harry Reid returned home to address the Nevada Legislature and boasted he was the most powerful Democrat in the U.S. Senate. The same article stated that all Republicans just need to find a serious candidate to face Reid.

While millions of Americans are asking, “How can we get rid of Harry Reid when he comes up for re-election in November of 2010.” The answer is, “Only Nevadans can vote to replace Harry Reid… but every American can help by sending their money.”

NEVADA NEEDS A CREDIBLE CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE THAT CAN BEAT HARRY REID. So who is going to challenge Harry Reid in 2010 and can that person win?

I think Nevada is ready for a straight talking conservative voice in the United States Senate - someone who isn’t afraid to go up against the “good old boy system” and challenge “politics as usual.” That takes a person with courage and money.

As a Nevada state legislator, I stood consistently for the principles of more freedom, lower taxes, family values, spending caps, an education system that is accountable, and less government spending and regulation.

I fought hard for fiscal responsibility in our state by consistently voting “no” on blatant and unnecessary tax and fee increases. In 2003 I voted against the largest tax increase in the history of this state, and led the fight to overturn the Supreme Court decision in Gunn v. Legislature that violated the state Constitution.

I continue to fight for property tax stability and predictability (Nevada’s “Prop 13”). I don’t run away from the war just because I lose a battle. In 2006 and 2008 I took on the establishment candidates who outspent me, but I didn’t give up.

I have been approached by Nevadans across the state to run against Harry Reid in 2010. I am retired without independent wealth, but I have an abundance of conviction and determination. Defeating Obama’s and Pelosi’s “go-to-guy” in the Senate means we have to have a strategy to win:

We have to start early – Obama began two years in advance of his Presidential run .

We have to engage the grassroots – the people of this nation need to understand the importance of this change and they have to be contacted to contribute.

We must use the internet – email is the most effective and least expensive way to network and raise funds. (16,500 donations of $199.00 will total the $3 million needed to start a viable campaign.)

We must contact our friends – each one of us has a Christmas list of friends and family that share our values and concerns. We need their help.

We must coordinate this effort so that everyone knows where the campaign is going and what we need to do next.

The purpose of this letter is to see what is possible. Just declaring as a candidate won’t defeat Harry Reid. It takes money and lots of it. The big money donor PACS, organizations and Party chairs have one test question for candidate viability before they will give their support – “How much money have you raised?”

I have formed an exploratory committee. This is an attempt to find out if there is enough grassroots support in Nevada and across the nation to make my campaign viable.

The campaign fund, “Friends for Sharron Angle,” is established with the Federal Election Commission to hold funds that will be used to defeat Harry Reid. If we can raise a substantial amount by May 2009, then the big money donors will be interested in helping. The bottom line is that I must have money to raise money. That is why I need your help now.

I know these are hard economic times with unemployment soaring and I’m asking you to sacrifice. The reality is now that Obama is President with a Democrat controlled Congress our only hope to slow the fast track to the entitlement/welfare state is to elect Senators that will vote for conservative Constitutional values.

So what will you sacrifice for your country’s future? Freedom has a price. Remember our Founding Fathers pledged their "lives, fortunes and sacred honor".

That maximum gift to a federal campaign is $2400. I’m asking you to send the maximum or to ask 24 of your friends to send $100 to reach that maximum. Harry Reid has over $7 million in his war chest.

We need to match that amount as soon as possible. That means 3000 donations of $2,400. When we have a war chest of our own, I will announce my candidacy. I know this is a lot to ask and that’s why I am starting now to explore the possibility.

We need to raise about $100,000 by May of 2009 to be on track to have the funds necessary for a winning campaign. We are about one fifth of the way there at this point with no time to waste.

It takes money to wage a campaign against the odds and against Harry Reid’s big special interest dollars.

Warm regards,

Sharron Angle

P.S. Please send a donation of up to $2400, or an installment of $1000, $500, $100, $50 or whatever you can afford to Friends for Sharron Angle PO Box 33058 Reno, NV 89533 or donate online at www.sharronangle.com Ask your friends to help you with a donation to get rid of Harry Reid!
